I have several Harbours and love them (Banana, San-o, Rapier, SR, Retro Twin and a TS.) My son had an HP3 for a few months and I liked that too. I have probably used the twin fin the most. Harbours dominate my quiver, but I surf and own boards from a few other shapers. No Fryes, and no Liddles - examples of what I am calling boutique designs.
Here are my questions: Has anyone ever heard Rich comment on the Frye style jumbo twins and other shapes? E.g. Fish Simmons, or Eagle? And how about the hulls that Liddle made? Or Herbie Fletcher's fingered step deck? Anyone have experience with these less-standard designs? Were they rejected by Harbour team riders? Did Rich ever make these types of designs off menu? Did he tell customers, "If you want an Eagle go talk to Skip?" Are these designs the retro flavor of the month? Did they have any marine engineering merit, or were they marketing hype. BTW, I like the Eagle shape but just don't get the functionality.
