Hi,
On the web site size charts the correct size Harbour for me (170lbs a few, depending...) is a 9'6" in the Cruiser line (Merlin, Banana) and also the HP line, but for the Nineteen model a longer board is recommended. The Noserider for my weight is a 9'6", but the Nineteen is a 9'10" Why is that? Is the Nineteen recommended longer than the others due to the extra weight of the opaque color? I surf with a wetsuit on - either a 3/2 or a 4/3 full with booties and gloves later in the season. (New England) That is a couple of extra pounds.
My current board is a 9'6" Nineteen I got used and like it very much, but now wonder if I should look for another board better matched for my weight. I like the 50/50 rails and the smoothness of the Nineteen is superb. I'm not much of a noserider really, but got the board to help me in that direction. It has. That said, I am mostly into glide.
So, two questions: Why is the Nineteen longer for my weight?
Should I look for another, longer board?
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
