WG,
Futures Fins has had me design a line of longboard fins for them.  Instead of calling it the Merlin Fin (which may negate sales) I decided that the name Super HP made more sense anyway.
This fin will be available this coming Holiday Season from any shop, world wide, that carries Futures Fins products.
Today, they are produced for us by Fiberglas Fin Co. and will always be.  Theirs is a hand lay-up 32 layer fin with its own flex pattern.
The one produced by Futures Fins is a high pressure laminate with so many layers that I can't count them.  It is a very high glass to resin ratio that seems a bit more flexible.  The flex pattern of a fin is somewhat adjustable by changing the foil gradient.   We are having riders test it and the rest of the line as I write this note.  I have provided the test pilots with a form to fill out and evaluate each relative value.  And these are in relation: Flex into the turn, Snap forward, Turn connect, and Holding power.  After testing, foil adjustments may follow.
Fins from both companies will be available and by the time the Holiday Season hits.  Hopefully by then we should be better able to advise customers as to which fin is better suited for their style.
If you want a 9.5 Super HP now, just email the show room,  contact@harboursurfboards.com.

Harbour Surfboards is a two owner business.  I, with my daughter, manage the surfboard operation.  Robert owns the retail business which includes operating the show room, accessory sales, surfboard sales, and online sales.  It is he that chooses which items to place for viewing in the online store.  The 9.5 Super HP fin is relatively new, designed to pair with the Merlin, but we have found it works as well with the Plantain and any other board that might have slippage due to a large surfer, powerful surfer, undersized board, or needs more nose riding hold than the standard HP series.
I hope this answers your questions.
