Thank you Drc123 and Screwfoot. I did notice that the fin looked moved forward. Something also seemed fishy about the pigment. I couldn't put my finger on it but I couldn't find the scheme in any old photos or advertisements. However I didn't notice the sanding on the nose though and I'm glad you pointed it out! But I don't see it on the tail.

Also though I would mention that there is a little plack on the board with the date made, the model number and the original owner like it was once in a museum on display? Maybe not though, just a guess.

Drc123 thanks for sharing your Balsa story. I'm really surprised it wasn't worth more than that considering it is a piece of surfing history. I'll keep that in mind if I ever come across one, didn't know condition was so critical on those older Balsas.

Its funny, the seller was apparently told by a surf museum that the board was worth 1500-2000. I didn't ask when he was told that, but my gut says he's not lying about it. Have values really fluxuated this much since the recession? Are museums over valuing boards? Is he making it up? Just curious on your thoughts.

I'm really glad I posted here and I appreciate your guy's input. I hope to start my Harbour collection soon but perhaps with a better board Oh and yes I just wanted it for a wall hanger, was not planning on riding it.
